Guest Crocking pt.4
Hi everyone! Today's blog post is from Croc lover, Logan Latiolais, my wonderful super-smart cousin!
Why does everyone have crocs you ask? Because you can wear them for anything! You can wear Crocs with socks or Crocs for just your feet! I just got Crocs for my birthday. They are teal and purple tie-dye. They are the best! Do you have jibbitz? I do even if your crocs are super cool and fashionable you can get your own jibbitz to decorate them! They make pretty much any kind of jibbitz you can dream of. Your crocs also come with a band you can flip them up and you can wear them as sandals or you can flip them back and go on a walk in them. So if you don’t have Crocs you might have a problem.

Croc Talk
Surprise! Thanks to a recent spout of reinspiration, I've decided to resurface the blog. I was reminded of certain aspects of the Crocs brand that made me proud and excited to be a Crocs owner, and I wanted to spread the word to other people who may be curious as well.
I was reminded of what Crocs stands for - celebrating people from all walks of life through comfortable and fun footwear. Crocs aims to understand its customers and pays attention to what people are talking about. Hearing the Gen-Z crowd and our pleas for companies to think green, Crocs has announced a plan to be Net Zero by 2030 (Read more here: https://www.fastcompany.com/90675000/crocs-shoes-are-going-bio-based)
The mindset of this company is trying to understand how people feel and making a brand that helps its customers "Come As You Are."
I may not wear crocs as often as I used to, but my crocs will always be a part of me. When I wear them, I think of the good times I've had and the adventures I've enjoyed, but now, I will be reminded of the inspirational faces behind the company and all of its positive attributes.
Thank you for your inspiration and energy, @thejamescreative, and for reminding me of the confident comfort that I feel when I don my crocs.

Honesty Hour....
This post isn't the happiest of posts in regards to croc wearing. It's not a sad post, but I have to be honest with you all if I'm going to keep this blog alive.
My croc usage dropped about 85% between the months of December and June. The remaining 15% was for showers or the occasional outing. You might be thinking that this was due to cold Binghamton winters, but that is not the case. If you look back through old posts you should see that winter never slowed my croc wearing.
This year I heavily invested in footwear. I bought a pair of Blundstones (highly recommend, best shoes I own, ask me for more info if you're curious). These were sort of an obligatory ~I'm-a-Jew-at-Binghamton-who-is-about-to-go-on-birthright~ shoe #IYKYK. I don't have the best feet (flat footed, achilles tendinitis blah blah) and these were the perfect shoes for me. I kid you not when I say I wore them every day from December until April (maybe give me 5 days of leeway on that fact). I was truly in love, just ask anyone who spent any time with me during those months.
I also finally caved and purchased a pair of Birks, another wonderful investment. Unfortunately for my crocs, these were competitors for the position of my new favorite summer shoe. Lucky for crocs, my Birks are not waterproof, so my crocs were not put completely aside, but unfortunately, Birks have contributed to the downfall of my average croc wearing days.
Don't quit reading now. Don't unsubscribe. I'm not here to tell you that my crocs are dead to me, because that will never be the case; however, I have chosen to be more picky about the occasions I wear my different shoes, and now my crocs have a more specific purpose.
My crocs are perfect for sailing on a windy day. Specifically sailing on an old Rainbow that tends to be great at keeping in water. My crocs are perfect to bring on a hike. They are bendable, waterproof, and easy to clean which makes them perfect for a muddy trail, perfect for when my sneakers are too wet, and perfect for easy slip-on comfort.
My croc usage will never end. Ever. But it simply couldn't keep going at the rate it was going without some drastic change needing to happen. I still love my crocs, but I also love my other shoes, and my choosiness will only make me appreciate them all more.
ANYWAY!!! The part you've all been waiting for...I need your help. My croc usage has decreased, and I would never want to run out of content. I'm looking for fans like those of you who actually read my blog and made it through this post to help with the forever goal of keeping this blog alive. I want to HEAR from you. I want to know what you're thinking. I want to walk a mile in your shoes (preferably if they're crocs).
Write below in the comments to let me know if you're interested. Or email me zoehandel@gmail.com
I would LOVE for people to guest blog for me. It can be a paragraph, a page, a book, a sentence, WHATEVER YOU WANT. I want this blog to be more than just my crocking. So please help me out <3
Thanks for listening, and please don't give up on this blog.
I'd love to hear from everyone and anyone.
Happy crocking! (or Birking)! (Or blundstoning)!

Betrayal
I recently had my heart broken. Not by what or who you'd think. I just wanted to share what happened to try to express my feelings.
The other day, my roommate broke it to me that she had never seen my croc blog. My suitemate laughed along with her and said that she had also never read it. This blog is a core part of my existence. My blog is a part of me, my crocs are essential to my character, and these two people are some of my best friends.
So you can imagine how I felt as they laughed about this in my face. And you can't even picture what my heart looked like when I even told one of them where the link was and she looked for 5 seconds, then continued on to look at snapchat stories. It sort of felt like betrayal, especially when it sounded like neither of them planned on actually ever reading it.
I work hard to produce the content I give you, whenever I can. I frequently talk about my blog in my daily life. Odds are, if someone has known me for more than 30 minutes, they are aware that I have a croc blog. And if they took the five minutes to click on the link, they would realize the quality I try to give you. Only the best for my fans.
I love you all, but right now I am unable to wear my crocs because I know they won't make me feel the same way for a little while.

Guest Crocking pt.3
For the next year I have the great good fortune of living on a sailboat and traveling from Maine to the Bahamas and back. Given the limited space aboard, every decision about what to bring carries major consequences for boat and crew. Neglect to bring needles and thread and you could find yourself unable to stitch your gollywobbler. Pack too many Twizzlers and you run the risk of tooth decay.
The decision about what footwear to bring was the easiest part. For this entire year I brought just three pairs of shoes. Two pair I hope I never have to wear, and one pair I wear daily. One pair of shoes is my slippers. Sure, they are warm and comfortable. But when I find myself on a boat in slipper weather I know I should be farther south. The second pair of shoes is my sea boots. I wear them when the rain is bucketing down, the seas are breaking, and the wind is howling. No thank you.
It will surprise nobody reading this blog to learn that my primary pair of shoes is my Crocs. Comfortable, fashionable, reliable...these are all useful traits for anyone’s shoes. But another attribute my Crocs have that makes them ideal for the marine environment is that they float.
Don’t kid yourself, things fall overboard when you live on a boat. We’ve already lost a pair of glasses, nailclippers, countless clothespins, a suction cup (don’t ask). But never a Croc. Twice since July we have had brushes with croctastrophe when the errant shoe went over the side. But trusty Crocs float and are easily retrieved.
Years ago I accidentally dropped a favorite pair or Ray Bans over the side and watched them sink out of sight. Never occurred to me to jump in after them. But when a Croc went astray in early Croctober of this year, I leapt into the drink with nary a second thought.

National Croc Day
First off, Binghamton University continues to amaze me with the lovely community of supportive croc wearers. It's inspiring, especially Hughes Hall (see pic collage below). National Croc day was celebrated in full force, with many displaying jibbitz galore and crocs of many colors. It was beautiful.
Second point to make is that it has officially gotten to the point, in my professional opinion, where to be comfortable, socks with crocs are important. I'm sure foot tolerances change person to person; however, at the first light snowfall in Binghamton, I knew that with my poor foot circulation, socks from this point forward were necessary. I'm curious when this occurs for other people. Do you ever wear crocs with socks? Do you always wear socks with crocs? At what point in the year is it necessary for you to wear socks when going out in crocs? Please answer in the comments below.
Thirdly, I got new jibbitz. This moment was bittersweet, considering this was not the first time I had ordered these jibbitz. In the summer of 2016, I ordered 3D crocodile jibbitz and I loved them, but by the end of the summer, every one of those jibbitz had been lost, with the exception of the body of the green crocodile. I was novice at that point, so I now know how to take better care of my jibz. I will not let this tragedy happen again. They add a new flair to my crocs, and they were well worth the $8 I spent on them.
Croctober is coming to an end, but what a fun month it was! Feel free to comment any ideas you might have for my next posts, and if you want to guest blog, definitely reach out!
Croc on everybody :)
